Our bodies are designed to sweat as a normal part of how we regulate our body temperature and omit excess heat energy. However people with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) produce sweat in far greater quantities than are required.

The most common area this affects is the under arms but it can also affect the palms of hands, the soles of feet and the forehead. Excessive sweating due to hyperhidrosis can limit men and women’s personal style, ruin fabrics, and most importantly erode self-confidence.

Treatment to significantly improve the quality of life for hyperhidrosis sufferers uses Botulinum Toxin or BOTOX® as its better known, to offer effective and long lasting control over the condition.

We have considerable experience in dealing with hyperhidrosis and understand it can be embarrassing, stains clothes and complicates business and social interactions.

Botox can be used to treat hyperhidrosis in the following areas:

  • Underarms
  • Forehead
  • Palms
  • Soles of the feet

Hyperhidrosis Treatment FAQs

  • How Does It Work?

The treatment involves using BOTOX® injected into the skin in areas of the body affected by hyperhidrosis. This helps to reduce sweating in these areas by blocking the signals from the brain to the sweat glands.

Around 15-20 injections are given in the affected areas of the body, such as the armpits, hands, feet or face.

  • What Can I Expect In Treatment?

Your practitioner will inject small amounts of BOTOX® in a grid pattern to ensure full coverage of the target area.

  • Are There Any Side Effects?

As a non-invasive solution to ageing skin there is no downtime associated with this treatment. You may experience some a mild stinging, redness or itching where the injections are given which normally subsides within 24 hours.

  • How Many Treatments Would I Need?

A single treatment of hyperhidrosis can last between 3-6 months depending on the individual case.

  • What Results Can I Expect To See?

You will notice a significant reduction in sweating, and this lasts for a period of up to 3-6 months, after which many patients return for further treatment.
